Floyd E. Davis, formerly of East Liverpool, died suddenly Sunday at 2:15 p.m. in his home on the Follensbee-Eldersville road near Follansbee. He would have been 38 Wednesday.
Davis was born in East Liverpool Dec. 5, 1913, a son of Ferrel Davis and the late Rena Reeche Davis. He moved from East Liverpool to Brooke County in 1937. He was employ7ed by the Weirton Steel Co. until 1947, when he became a toll collector for the West Virginia Road Commission on the Market St. Bridge in Steubenville.
Davis was married July 11, 1934 to the former Dorothy Mort. He attended St. John’s Lutheran Church in Steubenville.
He leaves his widow, three sons, Robert Floyd Davis, Ronald Lee Davis, and James Ferrel Davis all at home; his father, in Dan Diego Calif.; three sisters, Mrs. Wayne Faulk of Steubenville and Mrs. Henry Porter and Mrs. Clair Coleman of East Liverpool; two brothers, Harry Davis and James, Davis, and a half-brother, Earl Davis, also of East Liverpool.
The body was taken to James Funeral Home at 1245 Main St., Follansbee, where rites will be held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. by the Rev. Arthur L. Albers of the St. John’s Lutheran Church of Steubenville. Burial will be in the St. John’s Cemetery in Brooke County. Friends may call at the funeral home.
