Bonevere E. (Bonnie) Nelson, 87, of Chester, passed away Monday, May 16, 2011 at East Liverpool City Hospital.
A daughter of the late Walter A. and Catherine Carraher Wehner, Bonnier was born on April 3, 1924 in Chester.
She retired as a supervisor from Ohio
Bell in East Liverpool where she had been employed for 35 years.
She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Chester where she was a Eucharistic Minister, active in the clothes closet, and past president of the Ladies Guild.
Bonnie graduated from Chester High School and was a member of the Ohio Bell Pioneers,
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Paul M and Cindy Nelson of Chester; brothers, William Wehner of Chester, Thomas (Virginia) Wehner of Calcutta, and Dudley (Ann) Wehner of Warren; sisters, Noreen McPherson of Chester, Martha Roetzel of Va., Lois Ann Stoy of IL.; and Catherine (Lewis) McIntosh of East Liverpool. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
Along her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Mary Wehner, and Regina M. Wehner; and two brothers John and Regis Wehner.
Rev. Father Eric Antwi presided for a Mass of Christian Burial on Sat., May 21, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Private interment followed at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
The Arner Funeral Chapel of Chester was in charge of arrangements.
